Lemur Setup

Note: LiveControl 2 works with MIDI, not OSC. That means you can connect over Wi-Fi and use the Lemur Daemon, or you can use a hardware MIDI interface. On Windows, if you are using Lemur Daemon, you will also need to have virtual MIDI ports installed. The example below uses Lemur Daemon and loopMIDI, but if you are using a hardware interface simply use the appropriate MIDI ports.

  • Make sure that you have a Lemur connected to your computer (either through hardware or Wi-Fi).
  • Load the LiveControl 2 JZML (found from Start Menu or Desktop shortcut) to the Lemur app on your iPad (with the Lemur Editor or the App File Sharing window in iTunes). You can save the JZML in the app so you don't need to reload it every time from the computer.
  • Setup the following in Lemur / Settings / More Settings / MIDI Target 0:
    • From: loopMIDI Port B
    • To: loopMIDI Port A

Ableton Live Setup

  • Start Ableton Live and open the MIDI Sync Preferences in Ableton Live. Setup the following configuration.
  • Control Surface: LiveControl 2 1 31
    • Input: loopMIDI Port A
    • Output: loopMIDI Port B
  • Input: LiveControl_2_1_31 (loopMIDI Port A)
    • Track: On
  • Output: LiveControl_2_1_31 (loopMIDI Port B)
    • Sync: On
